PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY JULY 3, 2017
Chairman Steffen called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Chairman Steffen, Supervisor Hamby and Supervisor Kmetz were all present.
Supervisor Hamby made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes with one correction under Solicitor’s Report second line change owes to owns with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
Treasurer’s Report was given by Ms. Powderly and is on file as well as posted on the back wall.
Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
The bills were read and are on file as well as posted on the back wall.
Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay the bills with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.
Police Report was given by Patrolman Bertholf and is on file. Officer Bertholf stated that Chief Drake wanted the township to know that the department had received the letter about the resident’s living at 204 North Street and the speeding that is occurring on Columbus Avenue. He went on to say, one of the offenders living at that address is now in jail and the department will also be monitoring traffic on Columbus Avenue.
Chairman Steffen made a motion to donate $250.00 for National Night Out with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.
Fire Report - None.
Ambulance Report - None
Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file. A date for the Supervisors to ride the roads was set for July 26th. Supervisor Kmetz asked about removing the tree alongside of the township building in preparation for the expansion. Supervisor Kmetz was given permission to remove the tree.
Public Comment - None
Correspondence - The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, brochures and magazines that are posted on the back wall.
Building Expansion Project - Chairman Steffen stated there was nothing new to report.
Zoning Report was given by Mr. Natale and is on file. Mr. Natale stated that there was some complaints about the path going from the Settler’s Inn to Lock 31. It seems that the Historical Society has placed a drainage pipe in the canal behind Compton’s Garage. The pipe was put in on a Sunday even though the owner of the property had told them no. Mr. Natale was informed that this is a civil matter and it does not involve the township.
Chairman stated that there is a Workshop scheduled for July 19th at 7:00PM at the township building to discuss the Henry Skier project for a possible music venue as well as Dr. Neill to plead his case for a multi-use building and a mining operation that could possibly take place as he develops a piece of property off of Roosevelt Drive. There will be no public comment allowed.
Planning Commission - Mr. Natale stated there was nothing to report.
Emergency Management - Supervisor Hamby stated that there was nothing to report.
Crime Report - Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.

Supervisor Hamby made a motion to adjourn at 6:44 PM with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
