PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY November 5, 2018

Chairman Steffen called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM .

Supervisor Kmetz made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Treasurer’s Report is on file as well as posted on the back wall.

Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

The bills are on file as well as posted on the back wall.

Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay the bills with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Chairman Steffen made a motion to advertise the budget prior to the December 3 rd meeting with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes. Chairman Steffen made a motion to advertise for a certified public accountant or firm to do the township’s annual audit with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Police Report is on file .

Fire Report was given by Scott Mead and is on file.

Ambulance Report - None

Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file. Road Master Kmetz stated that he had picked up the new truck. Ms. Powderly explained that there will be one yearly payment to The Dime Bank in the amount of $11,328.93 with 4% interest and this payment will be taken from the State Road Account .

Correspondence - The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, brochures and magazines that are posted on the back wall.

The township received the Hawley Area Authority minutes.

The Wallenpaupack Area North Intermediate School invites the Board to the School/ Community Veteran’s Day program on November 9, 2018, at 6:00PM at the Wallenpaupack Area High School.

Public Comment - Mr. Shariest asked when Fairmont Avenue would be repaired. Road Master Kmetz stated he was hoping to get something done this fall if the weather cooperates.

Building Expansion Report Chairman Steffen stated that the work was ongoing.

Zoning Report was given by Mr. Natale and is on file. Mr. Natale asked if a change could be made in the fee schedule for roofs . He stated that it can be very costly, he would like to have the minimum flat fee to the township of $50.00 for residential and $150.00 for commercial and do away with the square footage fee . The Board suggested that Mr. Natale contact other township and see what their fees are.

Wallenpaupack Brewery has asked the township to hold a public hearing so they could obtain an Inter - M unicipal Liquor License . Chairman Steffen made a motion to have Solicitor Treat to do the advertising for the public hearing to be held at next month’s meeting on December 3, 2018, with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Planning Commission - Mr. Natale stated that the there was nothing to report.

Emergency Management - Supervisor Hamby stated there was nothing to report.

Crime Report - None

Solicitor’s Report - He stated he had nothing to report.

Public Comment - None

Supervisor Hamby made a motion to adjourn at 6:4 6 PM with a second by Chairman Steffen and all Supervisors voting yes.

Next scheduled meeting is December 3, 2018, at 6:30 PM.
