PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY August 3 , 2020

Chairman Steffen called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Chairman Steffen , Supervisor Kmetz and Supervisor Hanf were present.

Supervisor Hanf made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes as written with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

Treasurer’s Report is on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

The bills are on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay the bills with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.

Police Report was given by Officer Moser and is on file.

Fire Report was given by Scott Mead and is on file.

Ambulance Report was given by Jeff Phy and is on file. He stated the ambulance company will be moving into the township since the building they owned was sold. Chairman Steffen stated that he was unable to attend the regional ambulance meeting on July 29 th but was informed that no decisions had been made at that meeting and the next regional ambulance meeting will be August 19 th at 6:00PM at the Hawley Borough building. Chairman Steffen and Supervisor Kmetz will be attending.

Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file . Road Master Kmetz made the Board aware that Leeward would be requesting permission to run the asphalt plant after hour s and once he received the dates he would let the Board know.

Chairman Steffen paused the meeting for an Executive Session at 6:38 PM in regards to personnel matters.

Chairman Steffen reconvened the meeting at 6:46 PM stating that it was a personnel matter and no decisions had been made.

Correspondence - The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, brochures and magazines that are posted on the back wall. The township received a Thank You note f rom the Wallenpaupack Area High School tha n king the township for allowing the graduation procession to pass t hrough the township. The township received the Hawley Area Authority minutes. Received notification from the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency that quarterly training will be held on August 19 th at 6:30PM at the EOC located at 43 Volunteer Drive, Honesdale, Pa.

Public Comment - None

Zoning Report was given by Mr. Natale and is on file . Mr. Natale stated that since the last meeting the Johnson property had been cleaned up and the owner was working on getting the tires removed. He went on to say that the person who needed to get his permit for the shed had done so and the fence had been put up around the pool.

Planning Commission - Mr. Natale stated there was nothing to report.

Public Comment - None

Emergency Management - Supervisor Hanf stated he will be attending quarterly training on August 19 th .

Crime Report - Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.

Solicitor’s Report - Mr. Treat stated that there is stay on residential properties but since the trailer is not habitable he felt that he could file the writ of execution on the Wejnert property but he would check with the Sheriff’s office before doing anything .

Supervisor Kmetz made a motion to adjourn at 6:50 PM with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.

Next scheduled meeting is September 8 , 2020 at 6:30 PM.
