PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY FEBRUARY 15, 2021

Chairman Steffen called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Chairman Steffen , Supervisor Kmetz and Supervisor Hanf were present. Supervisor Hanf made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes as written with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

Treasurer’s Report is on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.

The bills are on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay all bills except the Gumble Brothers bill in the amount of $101.94 since the company billed the wrong township with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.

Auditor’s Report was read by Supervisor Kmetz stating that working Supervisors salaries would be $21.00 per hour an increase of $.50 from the prior year and health insurance would stay at $450.00 per quarter.

Police Report and is on file.

Fire Report is on file.

Ambulance Report - Jeff Phy responding through Facebook Live stated he would have attended the meeting but was uninformed about the township’s rescheduling of the February 1st meeting and Ashely Batzel stated that White Mills Ambulance had 8 calls within the township for the month of January.

Mr. Treat stated that he had met Attorney Bujag representing Paupack Township and Attorney Bernathy representing Hawley Borough in regards to forming a Wayne County Ambulance . He stated it was open to discussion if it would comprise 3 or 4 municipalities. Paupack Township will take the lead to determine which would be the better format on how form the ambulance structure with 3 or 4 municipalities involved as well as what the financial contribution would be for each municipality. Attorney Bujag will notify each township when the material is gathered and another meeting will be held.

Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file.

Correspondence - The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, brochures and magazines that are posted on the back wall.

Zoning Report was given by Mr. Natale and is on file.

Planning Commission - Mr. Natale state there was nothing to report.

Public Comment - None

Emergency Management - Supervisor Hanf stated that quarterly training had been cancelled.

Crime Report - Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.

Solicitor’s Report Mr. Treat stated the Sheriff’s Sale on the Wejnert property was completed and he has 2 checks one totaling $1,500.00 for reimbursement of execution cost and one for $13,900.00 which covers the Magistrate’s judgment with interest earned, Solicitor’s fees, filing fees, advertising costs, notice costs and sheriff’s costs .

With no further business, Chairman Steffen made a motion to adjourn at 6: 46 PM with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

Next scheduled meeting is March 1, 2021 at 6:30 PM.
