PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY September 7, 2021
Chairman Steffen called the regular township meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Chairman Steffen , Supervisor Kmetz and Supervisor Hanf were present .
Supervisor Hanf made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes as written with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
Treasurer’s Report is on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
The bills are on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay the bills with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.
Police Report is on file .
Fire Report was given by Eugene Krause and is on file.
Ambulance Report was given by Jeff Phy and is on file. He stated that by September 29 th Lake Region Ambulance will also be Advanced Life Support. He stated that they needed to have AVL installed in the vehicle and that the cost was $600.00. Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay $600.00 for the cost of the AVL with a second by Supervisor Hanf and all Supervisors voting yes.
Mr. Phy stated that soon they will be starting to build their new ambulance building. Chairman Steffen made a motion to waive all building permit fees for the ambulance company with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
Chairman Steffen stated he had attended the meeting for the formation of the regional ambulance and the focus of the meeting centered on the inter-municipal agreement . He asked Solicitor Treat to review the draft and Mr. Treat stated that there was no problem with either draft.
He went on to explain that one draft was for three municipalities to sign and the other one was for four municipalities to sign. He stated the reason for two drafts was that Palmyra Township-Pike County was not sure how they would proceed. Solicitor Treat advised the Board to sign the draft for three municipalities with the understanding that Palmyra Township-Pike County could join at any time.
Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file. Supervisor Kmetz stated he was able to pick up the 2015 truck from Gibson Township.
Correspondence The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, brochures and magazines that are posted on the back wall. The township received the Hawley Area Authority minutes.
Zoning Report was given by Mr. Natale and is on file .
Planning Commission - Mr. Natale stated that there was nothing to report.
Emergency Management - Supervisor Hanf stated he attended quarterly training and that there were changes made to the Hazard Mitigation Plan which probably will require the township to do another resolution.
Crime Report - Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.
Solicitor’s Report - Mr. Treat stated that he nothing new to report.

Chairman Steffen stated he will be unable to attend the October 4th meeting and made a motion to adjourn at 6:55PM with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
The next scheduled meeting is October 4, 2021 at 6:30 PM.
