PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY JULY 5, 2016

Vice Chairman Hamby called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Vice Chairman Hamby and Supervisor Kmetz were all present. Chairman Steffen was absent.

Supervisor Kmetz made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes as written with a second by Vice Chairman Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Opening of Road Bids Supervisor Kmetz opened the road bids. The Township received a proposal from Wayco, Inc. in the amount of $30,456.30 to do the work on Beechnut Drive as well as a bid from Linde Construction in the amount of $29,884.00.

Supervisor Kmetz made a motion to accept the bid from Linde Construction in the amount of $29,884.00 to do the work on Beechnut Drive with a second by Vice Chairman Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Treasurer’s Report was given by Ms. Powderly and is on file as well as posted on the back wall.

Vice Chairman Hamby made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.

The bill list was read and is on file as well as posted on the back wall. Supervisor Kmetz made a motion to pay the bills with second by Vice Chairman Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.

Police Report was given by Officer Bertholf and is on file. Fire Report was given by Scott Mead and is on file.

Ambulance Report -None

Building Expansion Project Vice Chairman Hamby stated there was nothing to report.

Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file.

Correspondence The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, magazines and brochures which are posted on the back wall.

The township received a letter from DEP stating they have granted approval for E.R. Linde to operate their portable non-metallic mineral processing plant.

The township received the Hawley Area Authority minutes.

Zoning Report was given by Mr. Mynarski and is on file.

Planning Commission - Mr. Mynarski stated there was nothing to report.

Public Comment - Ms. Romeo stated that she wanted to name her driveway Dancer Lane. Vice Chairman Hamby stated that the Township had received a letter from the Wayne County GIS Department stating that since her driveway is shared with Marcy Miller that she contact Ms. Miller to start a discussion since this would affect her neighbor. Vice Chairman Hamby went on to explain that Ms. Miller would have to change her address no matter what since she was improperly addressed to begin with. The Township would need to have that in writing from Ms. Miller as well as herself that both parties agree on the name of the driveway. When the letters are received from both parties the Board would make a motion to accept the name Dancer Lane or whatever name they have decided upon and would forward a letter to the GIS Department to that affect.

Road Master Kmetz informed Ms. Romeo that she would be responsible for the road sign.

Emergency Management Vice Chairman Hamby stated there was nothing to report.

Crime Watch Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.

Solicitor’s Report Mr. Treat stated that he nothing to report.
