PALMYRA TOWNSHIP – WAYNE COUNTY JUNE 1, 2015
Chairman Steffen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll call of the Supervisors showed that Chairman Steffen, Supervisor Hamby and Supervisor Kmetz were all present Supervisor Hamby made a motion to accept the previous month’s minutes as written with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
Chairman Steffen explained that after the correspondence is read an Executive Session will be held regarding the sewer extension project.
Treasurer’s Report was given by Ms. Powderly and is on file as well as posted on the back wall. Chairman Steffen made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report with a second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes.
The bill list was read and is on file as well as posted on the back wall.
Chairman Steffen made a motion to pay the bills with second by Supervisor Hamby and all Supervisors voting yes. Chairman Steffen made a motion to reimburse Joanne Kmetz, Tax Collector $110.00 for the mandatory classes that needed to be taken with a second by Supervisor Hamby. Chairman Steffen and Supervisor Hamby voting yes with Supervisor Kmetz abstaining.
Police Report was given by Officer Hilling and is on file. He thanked the Board of Supervisor for the donation of $3,500.00 to help offset the cost of a computer data program that will help the department in the filling out of forms, reports, etc.
Fire Report was given by Scott Mead and is on file. Chairman Steffen stated that on June 14th the Lake Region Community Dock Association will be hosting its Annual Home Town Pride Run. He made a motion to allow the Association to use the Fire Police to block intersections with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
Ambulance Report - None
Road Report was given by Road Master Kmetz and is on file. He stated that the Township will not be paving a portion of Beechnut Drive due to trucks hauling stone.
Correspondence The Township received its normal newsletters, pamphlets, magazines and brochures which are posted on the back wall.
DEP sent their approval for the Air Quality Program State-Only operating permit for the H&K Group.
The Lake Region Community Dock Association sent notification that they will hosting its annual Home Town Pride Run on June 14th and are requesting the use of the Fire Police to block intersections along the route.
Chairman Steffen adjourned the meeting to hold an Executive Session at 7:07 PM. The meeting reconvened at 7:33 PM. Chairman Steffen stated that the final hookup going to the IGA and the easement that goes along with it will be worked out and hopefully the project will be finished by the end of the month.
Zoning Report Mr. Mynarski stated there were no permits to report. He then went on to say that on May 10th and 17th he sat at Middle Creek Quarry from 4:30 AM to 6:30 AM and there was no activity to report. He stated that on May 27th and 28th the crusher was running before 6:00 AM and this can be seen or heard from his home. Chairman Steffen stated he spoke to representatives of Leeward who Mr. Kaut stated he spoke to and they denied any Sunday operations other than when permission was given.
Planning Commission Mr. Mynarski stated there was nothing to report.
Public Comment Mr. Van Orden inquired about the agreement between the Township and the Quarry. He was informed that agreement was with Atkinson and not Middle Creek.
Emergency Management Supervisor Hamby stated there was nothing to report.
Crime Watch Supervisor Kmetz stated there was nothing to report.
Solicitor’s Report Mr. Treat stated there was nothing to report.

Next scheduled meeting is July 6, 2015, at 7:00 PM and Chairman Steffen Stated he will not be able to attend.
Supervisor Hamby made a motion to adjourn at 7:38 PM with a second by Supervisor Kmetz and all Supervisors voting yes.
